12/19/18 - NBA Special

NBA Wednesday 12/19/2018

With no Thursday game this week in the NFL, I decided to dabble in some NBA.  I'm really liking what Yahoo is doing with their guaranteed overlay so last night I threw in a few lineups. I ended up doubling up so that leads me to playing more tonight. Here's what I'm looking at.

First off if you're new to NBA, there's a few things to keep in mind when looking at strong plays.  These things include but aren't limited to: over/under, minutes played, usage, matchup vs. opponent, and injuries.  It is important in NBA to continually monitor news leading up to tip offs to account for late scratches, random rest days, or just coaches being idiots. There is also always the unexpected you can't prepare for like the other night when the Kings coach decide to pull all his starters 5 minutes into the game.

Looking at tonight's slate New Orleans sticks out with both Mirotic and Randle out. That's a lot of usage to go to Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis. The Bucks are worse against guards so I'll be plugging Holiday in at $34. You also have Teague out for Minnesota which means fire up Derrick Rose ($19).  Jimmy Butler is just too cheap at $27 so I'll get some shares of him as well.

In GPPs we always have to find those low owned value plays to differentiate our lineups. Yahoo salaries are much more friendly than DK and FD currently so finding the value is important to fit as many expensive guys in as you can.  Tonight some plays I'll be looking at are: Kris Dunn ($18), Nemanja Bjileca ($12), Kevin Knox ($16), and Cedi Osman ($11).

If you're looking for studs to pay up for I would go in order: Harden, Westbrook, Davis, Embiid, and Paul George.  The Rockets get Washington on a back to back so Harden goes to the top of the list for me in a high total game.  Westbrook and George get a fast paced Kings team whose starters are well rested thanks to their idiot coach.  Davis is a stud in his own right but gets a bump with the Randle and Mirotic injury. Embiid will probably be the lowest owned of the bunch going against a horrible defender in Kanter.

If you're like me you can't stand taking a night off from DFS.  With the guaranteed overlay and low max entry, Yahoo is making it more fun for the casual player.  Check it out and let us know how you do. 1. Lots of guys out in Toronto. Fire up Greg Monroe at the minimum in Yahoo. Increased usage for Kawhi.

Also, Vucevic is out for Orlando. I'll get some shares of Aaron Gordon even in a tough matchup vs. the Spurs
