12/28/2018 - NFL Week 17 - Dart Throw with Matty Ice

WR Trent Sherfield (3200 DK/ 4500 FD)

There is so much value out there this week that I could probably fill up a whole dart board with players to take a flyer on.  You have teams potentially resting their starters, teams that want to get a look at their young players, and teams dealing with loads of injuries.  With so much news and notes to look out for it's hard to choose just one. Make sure you're looking for updates on our previous article, so you don't get stuck plugging in a player that may have limited playing time.

This week I'm going to Arizona for my dart throw. While Seattle has nothing to play for, the Cardinals can take this opportunity to see what they have for next year.  More importantly, they need to find out who is going to replace Larry Fitzgerald if he doesn't come back.  They have a nice young group of wide receivers, and already know what they have in RB David Johnson.  The jury is still out on QB Josh Rosen and receivers Christian Kirk (on IR) and Chad Williams, but the receiver I'm interested in this week is Trent Sherfield.

The past 3 weeks Sherfield has been targeted 7, 5, and 6 times.  This week he plays a beatable Seattle secondary that has already clinched a 5 or 6 seed, and even though coach Pete Carroll says he wants to play his starters there is a good possibility some players take off the last couple of quarters.  Also, if the starters do play at least the first half then Seattle can get out to a big lead setting up a passing game script for the Cards.

There's a lot of factors that could lead to a successful day for Sherfield. Not to mention he is learning from one of the best receivers in the game.  He still has a lot to prove to secure his roster spot for 2019 so the motivation is there!

Bold Prediction: 7 Rec 99 yards 1 TD (22.9 DK points)
