12/23/2018 - NFL Week 16 - Sunday Night Showdown

This Sunday's main slate has been crazy high scoring! Let's hope the primetime game is just as much fun.  We will see the Chiefs go to Seattle and take on the Seahawks and the infamous 12th man.  I would think Pete Carroll's game plan would be similar to that of the Ravens when they played the Chiefs.

Ground and pound plus time of possession could be the winning formula for the Seahawks. That would lead me to load up on Chris Carson and Russell Wilson.  The Chiefs rushing defense is one of the worst in the league giving up 5 yards per carry to opposing running backs. Seattle would love to give Carson 20-25 carries. Do the math and that would be 100-125 yards for the game.

Look for the Chiefs to counter with their explosive passing attack versus a middle of the pack Seattle passing D.  Kansas City playmakers (Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill) are very much in play. It would be very hard to get all three in your showdown lineup and if I was doing one lineup I would probably consider fading Kelce out of those three.

With a lot of potential studs to fit in, here are my potential low owned plays to help you differentiate from the pack:

K Sebastian Janikowski (3200 DK only):
Janikowski is only in play on DK obviously but I think he is a great way to save some money. He's attempted at least one FG and multiple extra points in all but one game.  With Seattle leaning on the ground game they could be content with a couple third down runs that work the clock and keep them in FG position instead of throwing for the first down.

RB Mike Davis (3800 DK/ 8000 FD) / Rashad Penny (3000 DK/ 6000 FD):
Rashad Penny looks like he will be out and if he is then fire up Mike Davis.  If Penny is in I would seriously consider taking a shot on him if he's a full go.  Either way I would love to pair one of them with Carson and invest fully in that Seahawks run game I was talking about earlier.

Good luck tonight!
