12/25/2018 - NBA Christmas Special

NBA Christmas Day 12/25/2018

The NBA used to do a couple games on Christmas but now they have 5 games spread across the day with start times from 12PM EST to 10:30PM EST. With no late swap on FD I will not be playing there even though they drop the lowest score. DK and Yahoo have some large GPPs with late swap and Yahoo is continuing the trend with their guaranteed overlay.  With that said let's get to it.

There is no shortage of star power on this slate so building lineups is going to be tough.  You have to find the right value and the right studs or go full on contrarian and create a balanced lineup.  Currently my approach is going to be looking for value in the games with a high total, then try to find the underpriced stars with the highest ceilings.

A few of those underpriced stars for me include:
PF/C Draymond Green GS (6300 DK/ 24 Yahoo)
PG Damian Lillard POR (7800 DK / 37 Yahoo)
C Steven Adams OKC (6700 DK / 27 Yahoo)

Those guys all have 50+ ceilings at affordable prices. If you want more affordable plays it's going to be hard to find value on such a small slate.  You could look at C Ivan Zubac for the Lakers as long as Tyson Chandler is out, although he will be pretty popular.  Eric Gordon/Gerald Green/Danuel House should all see increased minutes with Chris Paul out, but James Harden soaks up most of that usage.  If you are feeling frisky then fire up PG/SG Seth Curry whose minutes have been trending upward and is the bare minimum price (3000 DK / 10 Yahoo).

Even with some value pieces plugged in, you obviously aren't going to fit more than one or two superstars in your lineup.  The studs I would look at in order based on value and matchup would be: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Steph Curry, and LeBron James

My bold Christmas predictions:
Steph Curry doubles up Seth Curry's DK points and puts up 60 DK points meaning Seth gets insane value with 30.

Good luck tonight and Merry Christmas!
